Help & frequently asked questions

A quick guide to L-SPAN reporting, approval ratings, elections, and account sign-in.

What is L-SPAN?

L-SPAN is an independent newsroom and public-information site for the fictional State of Mayflower roleplay community, with reporting focused on Lee County. It publishes stories, election information, and aggregate approval surveys.

How do I submit a rating?

Use screenshot sign-in with a screenshot of Roblox Settings → Account Info. The image checker reads the visible page labels and username; public pages show aggregate totals and do not display who submitted an individual response.

How are approval percentages calculated?

Approve includes both approve choices, disapprove includes both disapprove choices, and no opinion remains its own category. Each percentage uses all responses in that survey as its denominator. Net approval is approve share minus disapprove share.

What does the profile trend chart show?

The chart shows cumulative percentages after each response in the selected survey. A new survey starts its own totals. The 30- and 90-day filters limit which response points appear; the calculation at each point still includes earlier responses in that survey.

Why are some election results marked preliminary?

L-SPAN displays the status provided for each election. Preliminary totals can change; certified totals are marked separately. Check the update date and election notes before relying on a result.

How do I inspect a multi-round result?

L-SPAN currently records overall candidate totals and does not store round-by-round transfer data. The election page explains when only aggregate results are available.

How can I report an error or request a correction?

Use the Contact page to send the newsroom a correction request or news tip. Published updates and corrections are identified on the story page.

How do ads work?

Ads are labeled as advertisements and may link to an external site. Sponsored links open separately from L-SPAN. Ad placement does not change an article's editorial label.

Can I print or save an article?

Use the Print / save PDF control on a story page, then choose your browser's printer or save-to-PDF option.

Where can I browse by topic?

Use the archive filters or select a topic label on a story. Search also groups matching stories, officials, and elections.
